Start your adventure in Cape Town, a vibrant metropolis that blends first-world comfort with African charm. But the real excitement begins when we dive into the heart of the South African wilderness.
Experience the thrill of sand training—a challenge that will push your limits, test your courage, and help you get to know your bike. We’ll ride over mountain passes, first on tarmac and then on gravel, through landscapes most tourists will never see or experience, all the way to the Cederberg mountains, where you’ll stay in permanent tents and enjoy an authentic rural lifestyle. Your motorcycle guide, Dave, has been riding for over 30 years and will show you the beauty of the Western Cape.
We venture into iconic, historic landscapes and traverse the vastness of the Tankwa Karoo, a hidden gem unknown even to many South Africans. With Bike X Cape, we experience the geographical opposite of what you’re used to in Germany—a vast emptiness with such an abundance of stars that it is truly awe-inspiring.
In Sutherland, home to the South African Large Telescope, we marvel at the beauty of South Africa’s coldest town before returning to Bike X Cape for another night under the stars.
Later, we continue our "expedition" to Ons Karoo Plaas, taking on the breathtaking Seweweekspoort Pass with its treacherous curves, dramatic views, and remote valleys where time seems to stand still. We ride on gravel straight to "Die Hel" and marvel at the resilience of the few people who call this rugged terrain home. It’s a challenging ride with steep drop-offs and tight hairpin bends. We end up in a remote valley with only a few inhabitants, constantly wondering how they survive here. The roads are treacherous and often washed away, so we will fine-tune our route on the ground based on current conditions.
We traverse diverse landscapes, from desert plains to lush coastlines, enjoying moments of relaxation, hiking, and swimming in South Africa's coastal paradise.
Then, we dive into the thrill of a full-day Big 5 game drive at Botlierskop, where encounters with lions, rhinos, and other wildlife await us in the heart of the untamed wilderness.
We can round off the trip with an adrenaline-fueled great white shark cage dive in Mossel Bay (optional), followed by an exploration of the enchanting forests and mystical caves of Gansbaai and a visit to the whale-watching town of Hermanus.

Towards the end, we return to Cape Town, taking with us the experiences and memories of a wonderful adventure in the wild heart of South Africa.
