Overnights
We spend 13 nights on safari in national parks and cities on designated campgrounds. The tent sites have hot showers. Please note that canoeing on the Lower Zambezi is spent 1 night in the wilderness.
Meals
14 breakfasts, 12 lunches and 11 dinners are prepared by the Sunway crew on the vehicle and enjoyed around a campfire or in the boma. 1 lunch is provided by the lodge. 3 dinners at local restaurants are at your own expense.
Transportation
Because of the sometimes bad roads, we only use Sunway Safari Trucks for this tour. Potholes, damaged gravel roads, and livestock on the roads can slow down the journey. You'll drive through villages and experience the local lifestyle all the way. We use open four-wheel drive vehicles for game drives in Hwange National Park.
Restricted participation
An essential part of your safari is involvement. From setting up the tent to packing the truck in the morning, it's all part of your adventure. Your guides will prepare all meals, but we ask guests to help (in turn) with the dishes. There are a few long travel days that mean an early start in the morning, so we all need to help make the day run efficiently.
