• All national park entrance fees are included in the price.
• Passport & visa required for South Africa and Mozambique. Mozambique visas can be obtained at the border.
• Luggage limit: max. 12 kg in a soft travel bag, additional daypack recommended.
• Sleeping bags are not necessary, bed linen is available everywhere.
• It is recommended to bring euros, US dollars or South African rand.
• Malaria prophylaxis recommended for specific regions.

Shopping on the go

The range of souvenirs along the route is limited, but you can occasionally find stalls selling hand-carved wooden figures, batik fabrics or woven handicrafts. Especially that Zululand is known for his traditional weaving.

Food on the tour

We value delicious, healthy and nutritious meals — usually three times a day. Exceptions (e.g. restaurant visits) are noted in the itinerary.

• lunch: Sandwiches, cold cuts, salads
• dinner: Braais (grill), stews, stir-fries

All meals are eaten together — at the truck, under trees or around a campfire. Cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils are provided.

Important:
We take allergies and vegetarian or vegan requests into account (please specify in advance), but cannot guarantee individual preferences — especially in remote regions with limited product availability.

Tea, coffee and fruit juices are served for breakfast and dinner. Other drinks are to be purchased at your own expense. Bottled drinking water is not provided — please bring your own bottle.

Difficulty level

The tour is suitable for active travelers in normal health. The accommodation is comfortable but simple. The climate — particularly in KwaZulu-Natal and Mozambique — can be hot and humid during the summer months (Dec—March). Drinking enough water is important. Relaxation is also not neglected: There is enough time to relax on the beach and in the bush.

Frequently asked questions about this tour

• Can I buy memory cards for my camera?
  ‍Memory cards and other photo accessories are available from time to time on the tour. A camera with a zoom lens ranging from wide angle to telephoto lens, 35-200mm, is recommended for landscape and animal photography. Each vehicle is equipped with a 12/24 V cigarette lighter — but you can't rely on being able to charge your batteries there, so we recommend that you bring a second battery. Don't forget that you can also (almost) always charge your camera when using accommodation (SA 220 V).

  South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Zambia are relatively safe and your tour guide will do their best to show you the most beautiful sides of the country and, by the way, to ensure their safety. In the wild, your tour guide will explain the rules of conduct — please stick to them, take care of your personal belongings and then nothing stands in the way of a great and memorable safari.

  ‍Yes, the tour goes through malaria areas. Prophylaxis is highly recommended, please talk to your doctor.
