Day 1: Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe)

Welcome to Victoria Falls
Arriving at Victoria Falls Airport is the start of getting to know a wonderful country. From the airport, there is a transfer to Imvelo Gorges Lodge (duration approx. 30 minutes). Once there, you move into your chalet or room and are impressed by the Zambezi River gorge. In the afternoon, you can get up close to Victoria Falls or take a first sundowner cruise on the Zambezi. When you return to the lodge, a 3-course dinner awaits you.

Day 2: Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe)

The Gorge
After breakfast, take the shuttle to Victoria Falls Town for a guided tour of the falls with some souvenir shopping options, followed by a picnic on the banks of the Zambezi or tea on the Victoria Falls Hotel terrace. After lunch, visit the nature reserve and crocodile farm and then return to Gorges Lodge in the afternoon to enjoy the evening with views of Batoka Gorge.

Day 3: Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe)

The Gorge
A full day is available to take part in some of the many other activities in Victoria Falls. Some of the top recommendations include:

Day 4: Eastern Hwange National Park

The Gorge - Bomani (Transfer)
Early in the morning, a visit to the school is on the agenda, where the school assembly talks about the local, traditional culture while singing and dancing. After a hearty breakfast at the gorge, say goodbye to The Gorge. You pack up and get on your shuttle to Halfway House (approx. 2.5 hours). There, a Bomani 4x4 vehicle will pick you up and take you to Bomani (approx. 1.5 hours). A late lunch is followed by a short game drive with an aperitif and snacks on the vast plain of the national park. This is followed by a night drive back to the lodge, where a 3-course dinner under the stars awaits you.

Day 5: Eastern Hwange National Park

The village of 'Ngamo Village, 'whose land is home to some of the Imvelo projects and lodges, welcomes you in the morning, followed by a tour of the Imvelo community projects. After brunch in Bomani, you can take a siesta or take a one to two hour trip to the underground observation post at the waterhole. The afternoon game drive ends with a sundowner and snacks in the 'Major Pan' and ends again as a night drive back to the lodge. After a short refreshment, drinks and canapés are available around the campfire, followed by a 3-course dinner at the Main Lodge.

Day 6: Eastern Hwange National Park

Bomani
This day offers a trip to the park from early in the morning. During the “Pump Run”, the situation of the water holes and their pumps is checked. A picnic lunch and a siesta under the trees in Mfagazaan Pan will let you experience the smell of the bush. The leisurely afternoon drive back to the lodge offers plenty of opportunities for wildlife viewing.

Day 7: Cape Town

Bomani - Cape Town (flight trip)
Today, you will be transferred to Victoria Falls Airport and you will leave wonderful Zimbabwe to fly to the metropolis of Cape Town. On arrival in Cape Town, pick up your rental car and drive to Parker Cottage, one of the best B&B accommodations in South Africa, where you'll spend the next two days.

Day 8: Cape Town

A full day in Cape Town! There is so much to explore and do. A good way to explore Cape Town on your own is to take a sightseeing tour with the “Hop On — Hop Off” bus. Visit Table Mountain, Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden, and more. A high-tea on the roof terrace of the modern The Silo Hotel in the Waterfront offers a 360° panoramic view and is highly recommended (please reserve in advance!).

Day 9: De Kelders

Cape Town - De Kelders (approx. 190km/2:40 h)
You are leaving Cape Town today and driving along the coast. Along False Bay, it goes via Somerset West and Gordons Bay on a spectacular coastal road towards Betty's Bay. There you can visit a large penguin colony. On to Hermanus, the whale watching capital of the world. In season from September to December, you can watch whales directly from the cliff path. Your destination today is De Kelders.

Day 10: De Kelders

The whale coast
South Africa's coastlines are world-famous. On the whale coast, there are numerous opportunities for you to get in touch with marine mammals. Watch the big animals from the beaches or charter a tour with “Southern Right Charters.” A dive with “White Shark Projects” is also a worthwhile experience. Visit the Hemel en Aarde valley for wine and pleasure.

Day 11: Wellington

De Kelders - Wellington (approx. 180km/2:20 h)
You leave the whale coast and drive along the mountain ranges of the Garden Route. The Cape Winelands offer spectacular views, fertile landscapes and varied stretches of road. Visit Stellenbosch and Franschhoek before you reach the Val du Charron in Wellington. A wine tasting in the evening rounds off the day.

Day 12: Wellington

The day is wonderfully relaxed. Take a mountain bike tour around the farm's vineyards or visit the local social project “NorSA Community Center” to establish intensive contact with the locals in a township.

Day 13: End of trip

Wellington - Cape Town - Airport
When you arrive at Cape Town Airport, drop off your rental car. If you have not booked a connection program, your round trip to South Africa and Zimbabwe is unfortunately already over. We are sure that you have gained a lot of unforgettable impressions.
