Day 1: Windhoek

After arrival at Windhoek International Airport, your journey starts immediately with the journey to Windhoek. If time permits, take a sightseeing tour to explore Windhoek's most important sights. Windhoek is the capital as well as the economic and political center of Namibia. Windhoek is described as one of Africa's cleanest capitals, with a mix of European and African influences.

In the streetscape of the city center, small street cafés and beer gardens convey the character of a Central European city, with buildings that are characterized by Wilhelmine colonial architecture. Important sights include St. Mary's Cathedral, Christ Church and the Ink Palace. Windhoek's museums and galleries offer exhibitions on the cultural and geological history of the country as well as on traditional and contemporary art.

Day 2: Etosha East

Windhoek - Mushara Lodge (approx. 520km/5:00 h)
Your first destination on this Caprivi car rental tour is the Etosha National Park. The trip takes you via Okahandja, Outjo and Tsumeb, a mining town, to Etosha National Park. You can visit Lake Otjikoto just outside Tsumeb. Lake Otjikoto is a karst lake in northern Namibia and one of only two lakes in Namibia that are constantly filled with water.

Day 3: Etosha East

Etosha
You'll have time for a full-day game viewing trip in Etosha National Park. With a bit of luck, you'll see elephants, lions and giraffes. The Etosha National Park is a 22,275 square kilometer national park in northern Namibia and the most important protected area in the country.

Day 4: Etosha East

Etosha
Another day of game drive in Etosha National Park. You can either search for clues on your own with your rental car or book a trip in an open safari truck with a trained ranger. You'll definitely see wild animals.

Day 5: Rundu

Etosha - Rundu (approx. 413 km/4:00 h)
Today, the trail takes you further north to the northern border of Namibia. Drive to the lodge west of Rundu. Explore the area and get to know the country and its people through the excursions offered. Rundu is located on a scenic hill on the south bank of the Okavango.

Day 6: Okavango River

Rundu - Divundu (approx. 193km/1:55 h)
After breakfast, drive along the Trans-Caprivi Highway to the lodge on Kavango. The Caprivi is a narrow bulge in northeastern Namibia that shares borders with Angola, Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe. On optional boat trips, you can watch the amazing birdlife of Caprivis.

Day 7: Okavango River

You have time for full-day game watching trips in Mahangu National Park or take a trip to the rapids of Popa Falls. Bwabwata National Park covers almost the entire area of the western Caprivi Strip and is home to a large number of animals, including lions, leopards, elephants and buffaloes.

Day 8: Chobe River Front

Divundu - Kasane (approx. 470km/5:11 h)
Today, you can reach the easternmost part of Namibia by driving through the scenic national park to Katima Mulilo. You leave Namibia at the Ngoma Bridge border post to get to the lodge in Botswana. In the afternoon, you can either take part in a game drive or a boat trip.

Day 9: Chobe River Front

You'll have time to take part in two of the lodge's activities on offer, such as a boat trip on the river or a game drive through the nearby national park. Alternatively, you can explore the reserves on your own.

Day 10: Chobe River Front

Today you can take a trip to the famous Victoria Falls. Transportation to the cases is included, but any entrance fees and visa fees are extra. Alternatively, you can also enjoy two safari activities. Victoria Falls is a waterfall of the Zambezi on the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia.

Day 11: Kwando River

The next stage of your Caprivi car rental tour takes you via Katima Mulilo and Kongola near the Mudumu National Park.

Day 12: Kwando River

Explore Mudumu National Park with guided hikes, game drives, and boat trips. Mudumu National Park is a 1,009.59 km² national park bordered by the Kwando River in the west. The park is very rich in game and is home to lions and elephants as well as rare antelopes, zebras, hippos, crocodiles and over 430 bird species.

Day 13: Rundu

Namushasha - Rundu (approx. 437km/4:30 h)
You drive back to Rundu via Kongola and Divundu. Bwabwata National Park is home to a large number of animals, including four of the well-known “Big Five”: lion, leopard, elephant and buffalo. Crocodiles, hippos and numerous waterfowl can be observed along the river courses.

Day 14: Okonjima Nature Reserve

Rundu - Okonjima (approx. 545km/5:30 h)
Today's trip takes you to Okonjima via Grootfontein, Otavi and Otjiwarongo. Along the way, you'll have the opportunity to see the Hoba meteorite. The Hoba meteorite is the largest meteorite found on Earth and a national monument in Namibia.

Day 15: Okonjima Nature Reserve

Okonjima
In the morning and in the afternoon, you can take part in the lodge's wide range of programs. Okonjima is home to the AfriCat Foundation, which is dedicated to protecting Namibia's predators. Cheetahs, leopards, lions, desert lynxes, wild dogs and hyenas are rescued, examined and rehabilitated here.

Day 16: End of trip

Okonjima - Windhoek - Airport (266 km/3:00 h)
After a leisurely breakfast, the subsequent trip back to the state capital Windhoek follows. On the way, you can visit a woodcarving market in Okahandja. You will then drive to the airport and drop off the rental car. This is the end of your unforgettable Caprivi car rental trip.
