Botswana on your own — an adventure for true explorers
Imagine yourself traversing the pristine wilderness of Botswana with a small group of like-minded people — in your own four-wheel drive vehicle, on dusty roads, across sandy plains, through sparkling watercourses and vast savannas. A trip that is not a tourist corset, but leaves room for development, deceleration and real experience.
This unaccompanied group self-drive trip combines the freedom of driving with the safety of an organized route. A maximum of eight guests share up to three off-road vehicles — a concept that ideally combines proximity to nature and individuality. You travel as a small community, set the daily pace yourself, and yet everything you need is taken care of: all campsites are reserved in advance so you can fully concentrate on the adventure.
Before the trip begins, you will receive comprehensive driver training, which is already included in the price. You will not only learn how to safely handle your vehicle in soft sand, slippery clay or muddy terrain — but also how to free yourself in an emergency, how to change tires and use the various off-road approaches in a targeted manner. This training gives you the necessary security and confidence to traverse the wilderness on your own.
The route takes you from Maun through the famous game areas of the Moremi Game Reserve, Khwai, Savuti and finally to the Chobe River. Along the way, you'll encounter herds of elephants, lions, hippos, antelopes and birdlife that is second to none. They camp under Africa's endless starry sky, hear the distant roar of lions and the call of cicadas at night — and wake up with the sun in the midst of pristine nature.
Top it off with a three-hour boat trip on the Chobe River. As you glide leisurely along river banks, herds of elephants pass by the water, crocodiles bask on sandbanks, and colorful birds traverse the sky above you. A moment of peace that lingers on for a long time to come.
This trip is more than just a vacation. It is a departure. An invitation to experience Africa intensively, pure and up close.
What are you waiting for? Adventure is calling.
