We offer personal advice and bring route, travel style and timing together into one coherent journey.
Plan your journey together →We advise you personally and bring route, travel style and timing together into a coherent journey.
Plan your journey together →We know our destinations from first-hand experience, plan routes and logistics with a realistic eye and work with partners we trust. The result is travel that isn’t off the shelf, but shaped around the people travelling with us.
Ajimba stands for personal advice, carefully planned journeys and many years of experience in southern and East Africa. We don’t want our guests simply to book an itinerary; we want them to experience a journey that suits their wishes, pace and way of travelling.
We tailor many of our journeys individually. For scheduled small-group tours, we choose our partners and itineraries carefully and can add suitable pre- or post-tour arrangements on request.
We know our destinations from many journeys of our own, work with long-standing local partners and make sure that routes don’t just sound good, but work well on the ground.
We select our partners carefully, support social and local initiatives and are a member of forum anders reisen. A voluntary climate contribution through atmosfair is included for flight emissions within our package holidays.
Ajimba was founded by Frank Wardenberg and Holger Asche. We share not only a long friendship, but also decades of experience in tourism and the belief that good travel planning should be personal, honest and practical.

Frank brings more than 35 years of experience in sales and marketing, including roles at British Airways and Lufthansa. He lives and works in Hermanus, South Africa, for much of the year. This close connection to the country and its people shapes his advice just as much as his many years of experience in tourism.

Holger is a trained travel agent who has worked for travel agencies, tour operators, cruise lines, and airlines. He studied business administration with a focus on tourism and attended the Wits Business School in Johannesburg. In addition to his work at Ajimba, he teaches International Tourism Management at the City University of Applied Sciences Bremen.
We ask about the things that genuinely matter when planning a journey: How would you like to travel? How much time do you want to take? Which experiences matter most to you, and where would you like to leave room for spontaneity? From there, we create a route that fits you—not the other way around.
Tourism is an important source of income for many people in our destinations. That’s why we focus on long-term cooperation, local value creation and partners who take responsibility in their region. We don’t pretend that travel has no impact. Instead, we address those impacts openly and make practical improvements where we can.
Ajimba is a member of forum anders reisen, a German association committed to responsible tourism and binding standards for quality and transparency.
Long-haul travel generates significant emissions. For flight emissions included in our package holidays, we therefore make a voluntary climate contribution through our partner atmosfair.
We work with projects and initiatives supporting education, conservation and local development, among other areas. Guests can learn about some of them while travelling or support them directly.
