Overview

Mobile Safari Botswana — Safari Authentic

Botswana is considered one of Africa's last great safari paradises — a country in which wilderness still has room and experiences of nature are not staged but real. On this mobile safari, you'll experience Botswana as few travelers do: intensely, decelerated and right in the heart of some of southern Africa's most spectacular protected areas.

This Serviced Mobile Safari takes you through iconic regions such as Okavango Delta, the wild rich Moremi Game Reserve, the original areas of Khwai, the legendary levels of Savute And finally to the powerful Chobe River. You will stay in comfortable, fixed safari tents with private bathrooms, which are built exclusively for your group — always at carefully selected locations surrounded by nature. In the evening, listen to the sounds of the wild, and in the morning, the day starts with views of Africa's wildlife.

You will be accompanied by experienced safari guides and an experienced camp team who will take care of your well-being and introduce you to mobile safari life in a pleasant and authentic way. Open safari vehicle game drives, a traditional Mokoro ride Through the waterways of the Okavango Delta and a boat safari on the Chobe River give you a variety of perspectives on landscapes and wildlife observations.

This trip is aimed at nature-loving travelers who value a real safari feeling, small groups and in-depth nature experiences. Whether it's lions in Savute, elephant herds on the Chobe or the silent magic of the Okavango Delta — this safari is an invitation to explore Botswana intensively and unadulterated.

Mobile Safari Botswana – authentic wilderness between the Okavango and Chobe

Botswana is a land of vast horizons, silence, and intense natural experiences. Here, it is not humans who set the rhythm, but the landscape, the water, and the wildlife. A mobile safari in Botswana is arguably the most authentic way to discover this fascinating country – close to nature, flexible, personal, and far removed from large lodge structures. This is exactly the experience offered by our "Safari Authentic"trip.

Traveling in small groups, you will traverse some of Botswana's most significant protected areas, experiencing safari not as a scheduled activity, but as a continuous journey of discovery. From the waterways of the Okavango Delta to the elephant-rich banks of the Chobe River, a new chapter of African wilderness unfolds day by day.

Route & Highlights – from Maun to Kasane (or vice versa)

The safari takes you through an exceptionally diverse region in northern Botswana. The starting point is either Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta, or Kasane on the Chobe River – depending on the date, the trip runs in the classic or reverse direction. The experience remains identical; only the order of the stops varies.

Highlights of this safari include:

  • the Moremi Game Reserve, known for its high density of wildlife and diverse landscape of lagoons, forests, and open plains
  • the game-rich Khwai area, prized for its intense wildlife viewing and its location along a natural wildlife corridor
  • the legendary Savute region in Chobe National Park, famous for its predators, large elephant herds, and dramatic savanna landscapes
  • the Chobe River, where a boat safari offers entirely new perspectives on hippos, crocodiles, and elephants

Each region has its own unique character – and it is this diversity that makes this mobile safari so special.

Safari experiences & wildlife viewing

Game drives in open safari vehicles are the heart of this trip. Led by experienced, English-speaking safari guides, you will head out in search of wildlife each morning and afternoon. Lions, leopards, wild dogs, buffalo, giraffes, and numerous antelope species are all part of the potential sightings, along with an impressive array of birdlife.

A special highlight is the mokoro excursion in the Okavango Delta. You will glide silently through narrow water channels in a traditional dugout canoe, passing water lilies, papyrus, and reeds – an immersive encounter with one of Africa's most unique river landscapes.

At the end of the trip, you can look forward to a boat safari on the Chobe River, where you can observe elephants, hippos, and numerous water birds at close range – an atmospheric conclusion to this safari.

Comfortable mobile camping – authentic and well-planned

You will stay in comfortable, pre-erected safari tents with private en-suite bathrooms. The camps are set up exclusively for your group and are located in select spots right in the heart of nature. Despite the mobile concept, you won't have to sacrifice comfort: real beds, private bathroom facilities, and an attentive camp team ensure pleasant evenings and restful nights.

A chef prepares fresh meals in camp while you wind down the day by the campfire, accompanied by the sounds of the African night. This way of traveling combines an authentic safari feel with surprising comfort.
