Local community involvement in tourism to protect wildlife

What is the project about?

With its sustainable safari lodges, the IMVELO Community Care project creates a connection between nature and people through the involvement of the local community in tourism and wildlife conservation. The philosophy underlying the project is: People who live within natural resources are best placed to manage them, and if they do so in a positive way, they should benefit directly from them.

What is the goal of the project?

The aim is to establish a connection between people and nature. The local population and the natural environment should be protected. The municipality should have the opportunity to take advantage of the economic benefits of tourism.

Who benefits from it?

The local population in Tsholotsho, Hwange, Bulilima and Matobo.

What are the challenges?

The lack of financial resources makes it difficult to provide education, health, food and water for the entire community.

What contribution does Ajimba make?

Ajimba offers individual travel packages in Zimbabwe. In collaboration with IMVELO Safari Lodges, we have developed a wonderful concept that combines top-level safaris with local people and initiatives.
