Three countries and major safari highlights
This 16-day Sunway small-group journey links some of southern Africa’s best-known wilderness and cultural regions. From Kruger National Park, the route continues to Great Zimbabwe, Matobo and Hwange, then on to Victoria Falls and Botswana.
Chobe, the Makgadikgadi region and the Okavango Delta provide intensive wildlife experiences before the journey returns to Johannesburg via Khama.

Day by day on your journey
Safari in Northern Kruger
Travel from Johannesburg to Kruger National Park. On the first afternoon and the following day, explore the wildlife-rich north with mopane woodland, large elephant bulls, wild dogs and lions.
Via Beitbridge to the Ancient Ruins
After crossing the border at Beitbridge, travel into Zimbabwe. At your destination, the monumental ruins of Great Zimbabwe take centre stage and are explored on foot with a local guide.
World's View and Rhino Tracking
Travel via Bulawayo to Matobo National Park. Granite rocks, San rock art and World's View shape the landscape; on a game drive and guided walk, search for the region's rhinos.
Elephant Country in Hwange
Hwange National Park is Zimbabwe's largest protected area and is particularly renowned for its elephants. From the lodge on the edge of the park, take a full-day safari excursion in an open 4x4.
The Smoke that Thunders
A guided walk leads through tropical vegetation to Victoria Falls. The second day is free for optional adventures such as white-water rafting, bungee jumping or a scenic flight over the falls.
Elephants on the Chobe River
After entering Botswana, reach Kasane. In the afternoon, experience the Chobe on a sundowner boat safari and watch elephants and other wildlife along the riverbanks.
Game Drive and Makgadikgadi Pans
In the morning, return to Chobe National Park in an open 4x4. Afterwards, travel south to Nata and experience the vast salt-pan landscape of Nata Sanctuary in the late afternoon.
By Mokoro into the Delta
Travel deep into the Okavango Delta by open 4x4 and traditional mokoro to a pre-erected wilderness camp. Bush walks, birdwatching, watery landscapes and encounters with local guides shape these two days.
Back to Maun
After the mokoro and 4x4 transfer, return to Maun. In the afternoon, there is time for an optional scenic flight over the Okavango Delta.
Across the Kalahari to the Tswapong Hills
A long stage leads across the open expanses of the Kalahari to the Tswapong Hills. At Goo Moremi, Cape vultures nest on the gorge walls; if time allows, take a guided walk in the afternoon.
Return to South Africa
After crossing the border into South Africa, travel back to Johannesburg. The journey ends in the late afternoon, with a complimentary drop-off at Johannesburg Airport scheduled for around 5 pm.

Some sections use remote roads that may be in poor condition. Limited help with luggage, packing the vehicle and occasionally washing up is part of the Sunway travel concept.
