Learning to read the language of the wilderness
For millions of years, humans have used tracks and signs to locate animals and understand their environment. In this course, you will spend a significant amount of time on foot, learning the ancient art of tracking directly in the wild.
You will practice deducing species, age, sex, and direction of travel from tracks, and learn to follow animals using various signs and acoustic cues. This provides a deep insight into the ecology and behavior of wildlife.

With 2 to a maximum of 8 participants, there is plenty of room for hands-on instruction.
Certificate of participation
Upon completion, participants receive an Okavango Guiding certificate for course participation.

Do I need prior experience in tracking?
No. The course is explicitly suitable for participants without formal ranger training.

How much time is spent on foot?
A large part of the training takes place outdoors in the wilderness and on foot.
Is there a certificate at the end?
Yes. Participants receive an Okavango Guiding certificate of course completion.

The course is designed for small groups of about two to eight participants.
