This grand self-drive tour combines the freedom of a fully equipped 4x4 with a rooftop tent and stays in selected lodges and hotels.
From Windhoek, the route takes you via Okonjima and Waterberg to Etosha National Park, through Damaraland to Swakopmund and Sossusvlei, then on to Aus and the Fish River Canyon, before finally returning to Windhoek.

Day by day on your journey
Arrival and Camper Handover
Meet and greet at the airport, followed by a transfer to the rental station and a thorough introduction to the vehicle, rooftop tent and camping equipment. Afterwards, drive to your first lodge.
Okonjima Nature Reserve
Drive north to Okonjima. The reserve is particularly well known for leopards, cheetahs and other wildlife.
Waterberg
After optional morning activities, the short stage leads via Otjiwarongo into the wildlife-rich Waterberg region.
To Etosha National Park
Drive towards Etosha. Before entering the park, there is an opportunity to stock up on supplies and enjoy a relaxed end to the day near Anderson Gate.
Three Days on Safari
The coming days are dedicated entirely to self-drive game viewing. Waterholes, the salt pan and bush landscapes offer excellent opportunities for rewarding wildlife encounters.
Across the National Park to the West
Drive through Etosha into the scenically diverse western section of the park, with further waterholes and wildlife viewing along the way.
Damaraland and Rock Art
Travel into Damaraland. Two days provide time for Twyfelfontein, Burnt Mountain, the Organ Pipes and, with a little luck, desert-adapted elephants.
Three Nights on the Coast
Travel through the landscapes of Damaraland and, optionally, via Spitzkoppe to Swakopmund. Two full days remain for the coast, boat trips, desert excursions and your own activities.
The Red Dunes of the Namib
Travel through the Namib and via Solitaire to Sesriem. The following morning, Sossusvlei, Deadvlei, the great dunes and Sesriem Canyon await.
Desert Landscapes and Wild Horses
Continue through the NamibRand area to Aus. A full day remains for the scenery, hiking and Namibia's famous wild horses.
Fish River Canyon
Drive to Africa's largest canyon. The following day is available for viewpoints, landscapes and wildlife viewing around the immense gorge.
Heading North Again
Travel north via Keetmanshoop to Mariental. The Quiver Tree Forest and Giant's Playground are possible stops along the way.
Return to Windhoek
The final longer stage takes you back to Namibia's capital, with time for a city walk and a relaxed end to the journey.
Departure
Depending on your departure time, there may be time for some last-minute shopping. Afterwards, return the rental vehicle and transfer to the airport.
