This self-drive tour shows you a completely different side of Namibia. Etosha, the Okavango, Bwabwata, and Mudumu connect with Botswana and a day trip to Victoria Falls.
You will travel in a 4x4 rental vehicle and stay in comfortable lodges along the rivers and national parks.

Day trip to Victoria Falls, followed by predator conservation and nature protection at Okonjima.
Day by day on your journey
Arrival in Windhoek
Collect your rental car and drive to the capital. Depending on your arrival time, there may be time for some initial exploring.
Three Nights at Etosha
Travel via Tsumeb to Etosha National Park. Two full days are available for self-drive or guided game drives.
On the Okavango
Drive north to Rundu on the Okavango River. The landscape becomes greener and more densely populated.
Okavango River and Bwabwata
Continue along the Trans-Caprivi Highway. A full day offers time for Bwabwata, Mahangu, Popa Falls or boat trips.
Chobe and Victoria Falls
Cross the border into Botswana. Three nights on the Chobe offer game drives, boat trips and an included day trip to Victoria Falls.
Mudumu and Kwando
Return to Namibia and the Kwando region. There is time for guided walks, game drives and boat trips around Mudumu National Park.
Back through the Caprivi
Drive back via Kongola and Divundu to Rundu through the varied landscapes of the Bwabwata area.
Okonjima Nature Reserve
A longer stage takes you via Grootfontein and Otjiwarongo to Okonjima. The following day is free for activities in the nature reserve.
Departure
Drive back via Okahandja to Windhoek and continue to the airport. Your journey ends there with the return of your rental car.

Can the trip start on any day?
Yes, in principle, the self-drive tour can begin on any day.
What kind of vehicle is provided?
A 4WD SUV such as a Renault Duster or Nissan X-Trail with comprehensive insurance coverage.
Is Chobe included?
Yes. You will spend three nights at the Chobe River Front and can enjoy daily safari activities.
Are Victoria Falls part of the route?
Yes. A day trip from Kasane is included; entrance fees and visas are to be paid separately.
How demanding are the driving days?
Some legs are long, for example, Rundu to Okonjima. The roads are generally in good condition, but you should still allow plenty of time.
