The journey begins with Cape Town, Hout Bay, Cape Point, and the penguin colony at Boulders Beach.

Fish River Canyon, Sossusvlei, Swakopmund, Damaraland, and Etosha showcase Namibia's dramatic contrasts.
Okavango, Chobe & Victoria Falls
Mokoro excursions in the Okavango Delta, elephants at Chobe, and the Victoria Falls provide the grand finale.
Day by day on your journey
Cape Point and Cape Town
Start in Cape Town. The Cape Peninsula with Hout Bay, Cape Point and the penguin colony at Boulders Beach is among the first highlights.
Into the Cederberg
Travel north into the striking mountain scenery of the Cederberg region. The first longer overland day gives you a sense of the vastness of southern Africa.
To the Namibian Border
Continue through South Africa’s arid northwest to the Gariep River on the Namibian border.
Fish River Canyon
Cross the border into Namibia and continue to Fish River Canyon. A walk or exploration at one of Africa’s largest canyons is part of the programme.
Sossusvlei and the Namib Desert
Two days in the Namib with the immense dunes of Sossusvlei. Early light, red dunes and desert landscapes shape this part of the journey.
Atlantic Coast and Adventure
Continue to Swakopmund. The coastal town offers time for optional activities; the previous programme includes dune boarding and quad-bike excursions among the possibilities.
Damaraland and Brandberg
From the Atlantic coast, travel into the rocky landscapes of Damaraland. A hike in the Brandberg region is one of the active elements of the journey.
Safari in Etosha National Park
Two nights near Etosha National Park with extensive game drives. Waterholes and the salt pan provide excellent wildlife-viewing opportunities.
Namibia’s Capital
Travel south to Windhoek. Namibia’s capital marks the transition from the Namibian to the Botswana section of the journey.
Across the Kalahari to Botswana
Cross the border into Botswana and continue into the Kalahari. The dry savannah landscape and encounters with local communities shape this part of the journey.
Okavango Delta
Two nights in the Okavango region with a mokoro excursion and nature experiences in the water-rich delta. This section brings the group especially close to the landscape and wildlife.
Maun
Continue to Maun, the tourism gateway to the Okavango Delta. Time to settle in and enjoy individual activities.
Makgadikgadi Salt Pans
The route continues towards Nata and the Makgadikgadi salt pans – a completely different side of Botswana’s landscapes.
Chobe National Park
Two nights in the Chobe area. Wildlife viewing and a river cruise offer excellent opportunities to see elephants, hippos and many other animals.
Victoria Falls
Cross the border into Zimbabwe for the grand finale at mighty Victoria Falls. In addition to visiting the falls, optional adventure activities such as white-water rafting are available.

Getting involved is part of the adventure
Sunway defines this trip as an Accommodated Adventure. The tour guide manages the itinerary and prepares many of the meals; guests help to a limited extent with luggage, packing the vehicle, and occasionally with the dishes.
Traveling through Southern Africa
The route includes some long driving days and travels partly over gravel and sand roads. A soft-sided travel bag and a small daypack are more practical than a hard-shell suitcase.

How demanding is the trip?
A normal to good level of basic fitness is sufficient. The nature of the trip includes some long days of driving, hikes, and activities in a warm climate.
