Persecuted since its inception in 2009 BikiSA e.V. The vision of opening up new perspectives for disadvantaged children and young people in South Africa through education, care and continuous support. The association cooperates with the East London Child and Youth Care Center (ELCYCC), in particular with the Glen Stella Campus located there — a home in which children grow up together with carers without family support or from difficult circumstances.
The work of BikiSA is designed not only to help in the short term, but also to create opportunities in the long term: through qualified care, schooling, learning materials, school uniforms and an environment that provides stability and trust.
Since the beginning of 2025, my Ajimba colleague Holger and I, together with our African friend Sabine, have taken on the honorary board functions: Holger as treasurer, I as chairman and Sabine as secretary. In doing so, we would like to express our deep ties to South Africa and our commitment to sustainable development and education work. We want to help ensure that children and young people are not only cared for there — but also have opportunities for a better future.
For us at Ajimba, BikiSA Not a “second mainstay,” but a matter close to the heart: We believe that travel and cultural encounters are more than landscapes and adventures — and that sustainable responsibility, respect and support for local people should be an integral part of genuine African experiences.
We invite all of our partners, friends and travelers to support us on this journey — whether through attention, participation or concrete contributions. Every contribution helps so that children at the Glen Stella Campus can not only dream, but also shape their own future. Ajimba will transfer EUR 10, - to the association for each customer.
